The durable new surface is expected to last between 15-20 years. Fiberglass pools are highly resistant to algae, blackspot, and osmosis, which decreases the need for chemicals and simplifies maintenance throughout the coating's lifespan. Skilled professionals handle the application process to guarantee that the work is done to the highest standards within the shortest timeframe possible.

The Fibreglass Process

The first step in the process is the meticulous removal of the current topcoat to reveal the raw fiberglass underneath. This requires manual sanding of the entire pool surface to eliminate any black spots and osmotic bubbles. Any bubbles found are carefully repaired. For vinyl liner and concrete pools, necessary patching is done before commencing the Aquaguard application.

The preparation phase is crucial for swimming pool resurfacing. After proper preparation, the initial layer of vinyl ester is applied and left to cure. Hand-laid fiberglass matting follows, meticulously smoothing surfaces and reinforcing areas with cracks and gaps. The fiberglass is allowed to cure before proceeding with subsequent material layers.

Our team of extensively trained technicians with two decades of experience handles all fiberglass swimming pool projects.

After the fiberglass has fully cured, a fill coat resistant to chemicals is carefully rolled on to prevent any air bubbles. The crucial top coat, applied under tarpaulins to ensure uniform curing and prevent discoloration, is the final layer. It must cure for at least 48 hours before the pool is filled and undergoes chemical balancing.
